Question Parking Lights

Hello,

Last night I locked the HR-V EX-L using the key fob, but some one in my community approached me and told me the lights were still on and it was a while after leaving the car and entering my home. I went outside and sure enough, the parking lights had not turned off.
Does anyone know how long they stay on for after locking the car? Also, if I press the lock button on the key fob too many times does that cause issues for the locking mechanism? I have a Honda certified remote starter installed that turns the car on after pressing the lock button three times, but I'm not sure how much time in between each click allows the car to register that I'm trying to start it vs trying to ensure that its locked.

Thanks!

I guess I've never timed my car to see when they turn off, but it's not more than a few minutes.

What position do you have the lights in on the switch?

I'm obsessive about whether my car is locked or not, I press the button lots of times and have never had an issue. Plus I like the little beep sound

Leave your lights on auto. They should turn off well under 30 seconds. I have 2 different hondas. Both of them have never had this problem with the setting on auto.

The only thing I can think of is maybe you didn't have one of the doors or hatch fully closed? When you used the key fob to lock the car are you sure you heard the beep ?

If the car is working properly all lights are turned off automatically about 10-15 minutes after the engine shuts down. Even if you leave the door ajar or had the interior lights turned on.
