Wink After a week...

... with our new HR-V (EX-L AWD), I'm quite satisfied. We got this car to replace a problematic Jeep Cherokee (Jeep laid a stinker with that one), and it's just what we need for around-town errands and so on, plus some regional highway driving.

And here's a lesson already learned: don't (accidentally or otherwise) short out the leads on the auto-dimming mirror. That circuit is hooked into almost all of the car's other systems. It'll start, but the idiot lights that stay on are too many to count. And the power steering is disabled.

I'll let everyone imagine how I know this. HPH

We just had to have the satellite radio -- hence the EX-L -- and they had two, a white one and a modern steel one. We picked steel and added, at the dealer, the rubber cargo area liner and that quirky cargo area cover. (After several cars with window-shade covers, this was quite the surprise.) And, so far, we've added Weathertech floor liners for the front and a custom-fit shade for the windshield. I also put on a C-Tek trickle charger connector, which came in quite handy during the fallout of my OP above. Snow tires and my Yakima rack setup (I managed to get it to work!) are next. HPH

Yes, if your life isn't exciting enough and you're looking for fireworks, you can accidentally drop a wrench across the battery terminals. (Don't ask me how I know this, either. ) HPH
