Hum after engine shutoff

Hi. After I turn off engine, I notice a 2-3 second low hum. With or without A/C on. And not the parking park. Think it is just part of the engine shutdown process but thought I would ask.

Thanks.

Sounds like fuel pump shutting down.

Another possibility: LED headlights that use fans for cooling, if you have them.

I was thinking this, too, but the hum would be as long as the lights stayed on (which is normally about 15-30 seconds) after killing the engine. My fans turn off immediately after the lights go out.

No LED for me. I will ask Honda when I take it in for first oil change. Since the hum is only 2-3 seconds, I am not sure where it is coming from but engine compartment is most likely.

I have a 2016 LX CVT also and never had any hum after shutdown. Maybe you can have someone else shut the car off while you look into the engine bay to narrow down the location of the hum. Don't know if the radiator fan has a delay if the car is running hot. Unfortunately you can't tell the HRV is running too hot until the warning light comes on. We have a useless mpg bar graph but no engine temp. gauge, thanks Honda.

Agree with this! Wish it was there just for peace of mind.
