thanks Thom. Sounds like you're beginning to project an afterlife for your HRV. I might be interested in an Acura subcompact SUV if/when it's introduced as a hybrid. Starting to contemplate the end game for my driving career - maybe less than 10 years away.....

I'm not quite that close to ending my driving career, but the next vehicle may well be my last new car as I'm hoping to retire within 5 or so years. I might just switch to a truck.

Hi Dammit - I'm about due for only my second service call on my 2017. I bought and took it to Planet Honda; I think you said you have a service contract with a dealer but don't remember which one -and do you recommend it? Thanks

Hi David, I use Schomp. I don't have a contract, but when I bought from them their deal was that if you used them for all service, they extended the warranty to 7 years, 100K miles. I'm very happy with them, especially in the age of Covid. They come pick up the car, get it serviced, and drop it back by the house. All at no extra charge. - Thom

Hi Dammit - lately I've read about some issues with CVT tranny on the 2016. Have you had any? I bought the 2017, but still very low miles (17,000). Curious whether the '16 had specific tranny issues and/or whether it's in my future..... - David

Hey David, I haven't had any issues with my transmission. I'm sitting at around 52,500 miles. I did the fluid change around 32,000, and plan on doing it again at 60,000. The one thing I have going for me is I've done my service at the dealer and they extend my warranty for 7/100,000 if I do all my service there. So, not concern for me for another 20 months or so.

Hi Dammit - I've read a few of your posts and think you live somewhere along the Front Range. I bought a '17 HRV EX and have loved it so far. Thinking it would be nice to do a modest stereo upgrade (my hearing sucks). Wonder if you have any experience or recommendations for local services which could improve sound quality over stock for around $500.... I don't really have skills to much mess with electronics, and skeptical of places like Car Toys, etc. Thoughts? Thanks! - David
