It may be worth having a look-see around your car to ensure there are no insects or vermin setting it off. If it is insects causing the issue, maybe even using an aircon bomb/refresher to kill them off;

 

I would worry about any film left over after spraying inside your car...

 

No but have had a rat issue in the past where it chewed up the battery wire. Does anyone know if the hood latch has a sensor on it? My mechanic says it’s only the doors and the rear latch have a sensor.

 

Update: Had the trunk sensor replaced as the mechanic believed it may have been the issue. Nope! The alarm still went off and I am now $350 in the hole with no fix in sight! Anyone else had this issue?

 

Usually the hood latch switch fails because it is exposed to weather and rain. Simply unplug the wire connector it to see if it makes a difference.

There are plenty of threads here dealing with this issue. Common issues are the door latch switches, especially the hood, and the smart entry control module.
