2022 Transmission Issue

I have a 2022 with 18,000 miles. I’ve had it less than year. I drive a lot. Transmission issue started the day I drove it off the lot. Basically I can press the gas pedal down at certain times, mostly when trying to accelerate after I’m already at about 40 miles mph. Nothing happens. I can floor it, and the car doesn’t speed up. Then it eventually catches on. I’ve taken the car in 3x to the dealership and they say they can’t diagnose the issue. They say the transmission is computer driven and what’s happening is supposed
To be happening. Which I don’t believe. If I would’ve known that , I may have chosen another car. When I drive to the mountains, or I’m driving on the big bridge here in Charleston, my car seriously struggles. So. What do I do? Go back to the dealership a fourth time? How do I convince them that there is definitely a problem.
They test drive it about five miles. And never in an open highway. So they never have a chance to experience the issue. This really needs to be fixed. Car is still under full warranty. Help?!?

Go back to the dealer and also call Honda....
Seems like the logical answer. This would be the fourth time I’ve gone back and I’m sure they’ll give me the same answer. I think I will call American Honda though. I wanna talk to someone who knows about these cars so I can get a definitive answer. Even the department head could barely give me an answer.
Document, document, document, and document some more.

More technical information is needed...

What trim level HRV is this? Does it have the CVT shifter paddles?

When you floor it, does the engine RPM increase?
What happens when you put the transmission in Sport (S) and then floor it?
What happens if you use the shifter paddles?

I recommend to video the dash cluster when the issue is occurring.
If you can reproduce the issue repeatedly, take a dealership rep or tech for a ride to show them the issue.

If the Honda dealer has another similar 1st Gen HRV on their used lot, perhaps they will let you take it for a test drive (accompanied by a dealer tech) to see if the issue also occurs on another HRV.

The CEL (check engine light) is not on is it?

What is the CVT fluid level and condition? At 18000 miles, I would recommend changing it.
Eliminate that variable and confirm the fluid level is correct.

That would be extremely difficult. 1st Gen was never sold in North America.
Have you tried unplugging the battery for 10 minutes?

have you gotten the transmission software update?

honda is warranting the transmission now till 150k.

also you may want to change the trans fluid yourself, a lot of dealers recommend 4 quarts and it’s over 4.5.

fill it till it comes out, start the car and let it run 5 minutes and top off.

I dont think there is a software update for the 22 . I have a 21 model and there is no software update. I think they were for earlier year models...
