Aftermarket thoughts?

So I've never been big on aftermarket parts, mostly because I don't drive as much as I used to and it's money I'd rather spend on travel or other things, but That doesn't stop me from looking or thinking about what I might do. That said, I've already had a few ideas if I do end up buying an HR-V so I'm curious if anyone else has given it any thought.

1. Swap out the headlights (and less probable) taillights for JDM LEDs. I'm still hoping they might offer them on a higher trim, but I'm not holding my breath. I think they change the look a lot.

2. JDM "Vezel" nameplate. It's really growing on me while HR-V is not. I know it's more common with brand emblems (red Honda Type R, KDM Genesis badge), but it might be fun to be the only Vezel on the road here.

I know Fit owners have done quite a bit of modifications and I anticipate a good portion of HR-V buyers to be coming from a Fit or other Honda, so just curious if any of that carries over. I guess dropping a crossover would kind of defeat the point so that's one thing that we probably won't see. But what else would you like to see on your HR-V that may not come as a factory option. Roof rails, sills, etc.?

I think it's very possible that we'll see LED tail lights make it over here for a future model year, if not you can always get them imported here.
The LED lights are pretty popular as a mod to many vehicles so I could see that. I could also see rails on the roof being a good addition too.

Ultimately I don't think that HRV buyers are really the type to go for aftermarket stuff.

I don't see why not.
It may not be after market exhaust systems but it will indeed be things more along the lines of what has a mass appeal.

I think that mods would be more likely to be functional instead of aesthetic or performance enhancing. It just doesn't strike me as the type of vehicle that people will want to sup up, or attach a big spoiler to or something.
well functional mods are performance enhancing. Mods are likely rto be aesthetic. I like that Vezel badge Idea, guys used to do it all the time with Honda badges on Integras, Axela badges on Mazda 3's....

For the most part people won't be approaching this the same way others do with sports cars or sedans.

THat's basically what I meant to say.
Pre-order your accessories ...

From where else but .... :)

I think the Civic engine is a bonus for those wanting more performance. Just look at all the catalogs of parts and tuner options for Civics. Those potentially become immediately available for the HR-V.

Good point, even more of a reason for a Mugen Honda HRV to happen :D
