Anyone seen any red HRV?

The HR-V red is the Milano Red. It has been in the Honda line-up since at least 1992 (ref: http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?manuf=Honda&code=R81&con=m).

We had a 1998 1st gen Honda CR-V in the Milano Red. We drove her for 6 1/2 years and the paint looked as good as the day we bought her when we sold her for a 2003 CR-V. Of course, she was garaged and I did a thorough detailing with clay/wax/sealant twice a year.

I'm leaning toward the Milano Red being the best color to show the lines of the HR-V. The red/black combo works very well, and a bit of chrome splash somewhere may work well.

What I am noticing as I drop in and out of our dealer's lot (just got an email that the Mulberry is in... I'm going this afternoon to take a peak) is that the red looks the sharpest. The HR-V seems more "streamlined" with less acute angles than the FIT/CR-V, and it needs something for contrast.

I purchased a 2016 Honda HR-V EX AWD Auto CVT in Milano Red with Black interior in Sioux City Iowa @ Vern Eide Honda dealer on Saturday May 16th. I traded in my 3 month old Silver 2015 Honda fit EX 6 speed manual. Yes I took a hit on my Fit, but not too bad. I got a pretty good deal considering what I did!!!! I do not regret it. I have driven Hondas for quite a while now and the Honda HR-V in red is stunning in person and fits what I wanted. I drove my new hr-v for three days now and it just keeps confirming my judgment, in a good way! I have never had a cvt before and I don't mind it so far. The ride is quiet smooth actually. Today, first drive into work the average mpg was 33. I was getting about 37-8 mpg for the same ride in my Fit. But no comparison in ride the HR-V is far superior to the Fit, of course. I was kind of wondering why not much storage in the hrv up front where the driver and 1st passenger would sit, but it should not be a deal breaker. The dash I like, the vents are not an eye sore to me, um cars need vents! LOL! The black interior is great and luxurious feeling even though it's not the leather, by the way I am not a fan of the leather they are using in the Hondas now, seems a bit cheap quality to me, just my opinion. What I love about the EX is it has heated seats and heated side mirrors for the Iowa winters brrrrrrrrr, and of course the variable wipers, the privacy tinted back window is dark, which I like and the side windows in the rear seat seem darker too which really looks cool against the Milano red. I like a lot more on this new Hrv but I am at work so I have to get back to it! It has been my pleasure to share my joyous purchase!

Got the Red one!

I bought my Red HRV EX last night. Really looks sharp.
$200 below sticker. +299 "dealer processing fee". No add-ons (wheel locks, pin stripes, dealer prep, paint protection, etc.)
I am happy with that. I feel getting a 2016 model so early in the cycle is worth paying sticker price. In 18 months, it will still be the current model year. If you get the last of the 2016's when the 2017's are out, you will be buying a car that has already depreciated. That's why they are cheaper then.

I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to test drive an HR-V. If all goes well, I'll have them order an EX AWD CVT in Milano red. That will be my third Honda in Milano red. I had a 2000 Prelude (yes, it faded some) and now have a 2014 CR-Z (still looks brand new). I think the red looks great and don't see it as fading more than other colors. Just take care of your paint.

Milano Red

Excellent! Keep us posted!

I am looking at the exact same color and trim level. :)

The Milano Red is amazing. I totally agree with you about the fading issue. Some like to speak on it that have never owned one or realized no matter the color you got to wax it. :D

Any particular wax/polish/etc. you have found to work best on the Milano Red?

I am not a fan of red at all, but I have to get a red one for work. I wish it was a darker, more burgundy type colour. I had a '99 Beetle in cherry red and it definitely faded, but not as badly as expected. I did not maintain the clear-coat. If I had, I bet I wouldn't notice any fading.

Thanks for sharing your pics guys, I have yet to see one in red in person!
