Are heads turning?

Just wondering...for those lucky new HR-V trailblazers--what kind of reaction are you getting from the general public? Are people staring to figure out what you're driving? Questions when you pull up on the parking lot, etc.?

No, but many of my friends have asked me questions. I don't think this car is as big a deal as we make it out to be on this forum but people definitely seem to like it.

Only from friends/co-workers who I've talked about the vehicle in front of. I really think just glancing in traffic or in a parking lot that it resembles a lot of the class. I'm not calling it generic, but unless you go all weird like the Juke or have one of the boxy styles, they all mesh together unless you're really looking.
in chicago i'm not getting many looks. i debadged the rear as well, so if you don't know much about cars, i don't think you'd think anything different.

Speaking of debadging...do you know if it is easy removing what looks like it is painted on, but I think it is a decal, dealer advertising that some dealers stick on all their cars? Can you harm the clear coat removing it and will it leave a "shadow"?

But back on topic. I am not seeing much "I've seen it....got to have it" going on here. I base this mainly on one Saturday at a busy dealer. People were examining the HR-V, but I didn't subsequently see many sitting down to buy one. Not to say this won't be a popular car, but there is not the predicted frenzy originally expected by some. I have even seen the same cars sitting there after subsequent visits, so they are not exactly flying off the lots as soon as they come in. When they receive more advertising that should pick up, but for now the spontaneous buying on sight appears not to be happening.
The dealer decals are just stickers, like a pin stripe, and are just made out of vinyl. I picked mine off yesterday in a movie theater parking lot in about two minutes. Mine was almost all individual letters so it took a minute but it comes off very easy. It is easier to do when new and everything is still soft, or better yet ask the dealer not to put one on in the first place. I forgot to ask.

Also as a note my dealer had sold every single HRV he had in stock. The only one he'd not sold was the red one and he traded that for the white one I wanted so in the end he still sold all his stock. There were three on the lot but each was marked sold. Seem to be selling well for a car no one really knows about yet!
Bice, I agree. The initial flurry of sales has leveled off here. Once advertising starts, we may see things change. Like me, I believe some are waiting for more inventory to get the HRV they want. I'm anxious to see (and stalk) the first one that passes me on the highway!
I always tell them to take the dealer stuff off when they're prepping the car for me to take it home.

I love your "stalk" remark.... lol. I have been stalking people about RAV4 recently.....asking them how they like it. :)

I bought mine Thursday and picked it up Saturday. I wanted white and they traded for a white in Yuma, AZ. I am loving it! I was driving a 2009 Sonata and wanted to move away from sedans. This car is fun to drive, lots of bells and whistles in the right places. I am 5'1" and drive 20,000 miles per year. This vehicle handles very well, great visibility with the assistance of rear and right side camera. People I know are curious, but I don't think it is turning any heads. It pretty much blends into the SUV market. I think you have to do your research to see what is different about it. I have held back from the SUV market until this vehicle showed up...glad I waited. Price point, mileage, Honda brand and size make it a winner for me.
We are having fun with family and friends with our HRV. We have the black EX with the CVT. We also have a black CRV EX-L. Since both cars are the same color, family and friends don't realize at first that the HRV and the CRV are different cars. Both are very similar in size and shape. Obvious difference is the tail lights; less obvious difference is the head lights. Perhaps the general public will take more notice of the HRV when the television ads kick in.

My nextdoor neighbors were on their porch when I got home. They are on their 3rd CRV and 5th Honda. They got super excited when they saw I had an HRV and have been following it since they want something smaller. I gladly let them hop in and test things out and they're going to go get one now! Different color of course! :)

Love hearing the fun you are having with your new car. Enjoy! :)
I had a coworker ask me if it was the new Mazda. When I told her it was a Honda HRV she said, "I've never heard of that. It is beautiful." She drives a Nissan Rogue. Other than her and the people that were thrilled to see me in a non-clown size car (not my words, theirs) no one notices. I do work where MOST of the office staff drives an SUV or crossover of some sort...I guess to some when you've seen one you've seen them all?

Now my mother.... She got a 2015 Kia Soul+ 3 weeks before I got the HR-V and she fell in love with mine. Said she wished she knew about them before getting her 3rd Soul. She drove her husband by to see it and he really likes it and said "now THAT is nice. Why didn't you get one of those instead of another one of THESE?" (he's never been fond of her Kia Souls but she likes them so he didn't care). She happened to be with me when we went for a test drive. The dealer told her to come see him when she's ready to sell her soul...ha! Maybe you had to be there but it was funny. She didn't get the joke right away lol he was an excellent salesperson!

Law Enforcement was conducting a Driver's License and seat belt use stop Friday night (I passed both). The officer did a double take, and asked what I was driving. When I told him, he started grinning and said that he had not heard of the HRV, but added that he really liked the looks of the car. Since it was a night time stop he also complemented the front end lights. It's not often that one can legally turn the head of a law enforcement officer.

The only reactions I have gotten were regarding my choice of color-Misty Green Pearl...I guess I made a good choice. Also, my neighbor saw only the back of my car in the garage and he insisted that I rebadged an Acura RDX until I showed him that it really is a Honda- it looks that good! ;)
No. All the SUVs looked pretty much the same.

I parked my white HRV EX L in a retail store parking lot. When I came out of the store, a gentleman was standing by my car waiting for me. He introduced himself and asked if it was my car. Then he asked, What is it? He was very interested and asked lots of questions. Someone noticed.

I would definitely turn my head if I saw one of you people driving the HRV, but none of you have shown yourself! :D

Funny enough, the most notice has been insurance and the dmv
Both said, it's a honda what? I had to tell the insurance folk to go online to honda, to prove I want making it up!
