AWD for North America?

I haven't seen in any of the media pieces if the HR-V will be available in North America with AWD. I know in Japan the Vezel is offered in AWD, however the take rate is surprisingly low, well not for Japan I suppose.

AWD share : 30%
FWD share : 70%

AWD would be good for people in the northern states and even canada, they would really want AWD. How much more could AWD cost us?

If it's not going to have an AWD option, then the HR-V wll be off m list. I suspect pretty much that it will, in terms of how much more $$ I'm not sure. You can always get an estimate with other brands w or w/o AWD and guess at the difference from there.

In Japan the hybird model is much more popular than gasoline model, about 70 to 80% vezel are hybird model. A hybird FWD model (FF model) has very attractive interior, I guess this model must sell very well.. And AWD is not something essential for most part of Japan. Consider all these factor, 30% AWD isn't too bad at all.
All the existing competitors, subaru XV crosstrek, nissan Juke hyundai tucson including VW Tiguan offer AWD, I see no reason HRV will be exception

I have a feeling for a good amount of people that will be the case, it's going to be in Honda's best interest to have optional AWD
