Greetings from central Massachusetts,

just wondering if anyone knows if our state side hr-v will come w/ jewel type day time running lights; like the hr-v that had them as shown in an internet hr-v add a few months ago. The LA reveal hr-v doesn't seem to have them. I showed my wife the add and she said,"you like this car cause of the drl's"... to which I said, " yup". Sure would be disappointing if we didn't get them. The internet add must have been a European hr-v. Why does everybody else always get the cool and good looking stuff while continue to always get stuck w/ the boring, plain, unexciting stuff?

I think it all depends on what different markets need for pricing levels. The North American HR-V has to be sufficiently less than the CR-V to sell well. So that means the more expensive lighting has to be let go to keep the prices where they need to be.

In other parts of the world "premium" models work better. If you translate their prices to US dollars, they are pretty expensive. This allows for more upscale items.
I hadn't really noticed much of a difference, so I had to look up the pictures and compare the two. It looks like the US version will be a little different.

Jewel eyes in the Acura sense? I think not!

I agree with the lighting differences. While some may not care for the different version, there will be others, like myself, that would like to see and/or have the different style headlights and all. The newer Civic, CRV and Accord have the newer style headlights. I really wish that Honda offers both or some third party offers a body kit in the US like the Modulo version that offers a possibility of a change.

I agree. I don't like the shrunken headlight look. They look like white taillights. The HR-V headlights fill in the opening and compliment the flow of the front.

I think your best bet would be to go aftermarket. The car we have been seeing lately appears to be the top model and it has the regular headlights. What we are seeing now is the production model and I don't believe Honda will suddenly change out the headlights before sale date.

Has anyone seen these lights switched on? I am intrigue by that white band at the leading edge of the headlight. I am wondering if it something similar to the Tucson and displays as a solid white band when lit. That looked really cool when I saw the Tucson at the Phoenix Auto show.
It seems as though the North American HR-V has been made a bit cheaper than its counterparts in other markets. I wouldn't expect the NA HR-V to have jewel headlights unfortunately because of that.
As cool as jewel eyes would be, i just don't see it happening here
it might take away from what acura might have for the world with a vehicle of this size
