My 2022 HRV had the check engine light on, P! ( brake system failure- take to dealership asap) park was all lite up when I turned the car on.
I do not use the park hold or my emergency parking break.
The emergency break engaged while driving then would not release. Had to have it towed however worked when tow truck driver got there.
Dealership can't figure out why and say it's safe since they can't determine why or re create it.
I am scared to drive the car for my safety.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Did you find out the code that triggered the CEL?

You could try raising the issue with HUS, that way there is a record of it in case it happens again. Did the breakdown mechanic give a reason or did he merely ferry you to the dealership? If you do decide to contact HUS, it would be beneficial to provide them with a copy of the breakdown paperwork so they can contact the driver.

If you haven't done so already, it would be beneficial to any potential future claim or rejection to install a dashcam so that if it does happen again they can see it happening, even if there are no fault codes recorded.
