I have a 2016 Honda HRV it has approximately 100,000 miles on it. I purchased it from California out of Florida for my daughter. She had just had a terrible accident where her car was totaled and since she was completely unharmed I decided it would be a good choice to purchase the same car again. I contacted the dealer closest to my daughter and made an inquiry regarding a HRV they had listed for sale. This dealership was well aware that my 19 year old daughter was going to get in this car and drive 3,000 miles from Florida to California. The first car was a certified pre-owned under 100,000 miles but it was infested with roaches and we could not deal with it. We kept it for 4 days and had roach treatments done with it and finally brought it back to them where they did this guaranteed procedure. There were roaches in there when my daughter went to go pick it up. So I inquired with them for a different car. And they came up with this 2016 HRV that we have now. Once it arrived here in California I noticed the engine mounts were broken and replaced them immediately. Not 300 miles later the motor mounts were broken again. And now here we are at 400 miles and they're broken again. When I contacted the Honda dealer in Florida with these issues, they reimbursed me for costs to replace those mounts and were willing to buy me a aftermarket type extended warranty. What? Aftermarket? What I found out through that conversation was that this car was not certified pre-owned. The first car, however infested, was certified pre-owned. This dealer knew I wanted certified pre-owned and they also knew that she was going to get in that car and drive 3,000 miles within 10 days of buying the car.
Now we've replaced the axles the mount several times and this car appears to be having more problems.
What exactly would happen to a car that drove 3000 miles on broken motor mounts? Is it possible that the frame has become unaligned or the mounts no longer mate the proper surface?
Clearly, there's been some negligence here and I was misled on the status of this car. What I'll do with all that has yet to be determined. I just want to attack the mechanical issues that I'm facing here so I can better determine what to do. Thank you for any advice.
