I am considering to buy a 2018 basic LX model, however it has a tiny 5" screen only.
Is it possible to replace it with an aftermarket 7" screen, and somehow mount it in front of the dash opening?
Any compatible device that will work with backup camera?
Thanks!

A lot of information is already posted here about, I have a Dasaita in mine that is a 9” screen. There are others too, search around and you’ll get a lot of information.

Thank you for your reply!
From the threads , a MAXCA MA-901 seems like a less expensive option.
However, original screen is 5",and this one is 9" !
Does it fit into the dash opening ?
Does the dash opening needs to be cut/modified ?
Perhaps a smaller 7" unit would be a perfect physical fit ?
Thank You !

The 9” will fit our car without modifications. Look in my signature at “My Albums” and go to the Dasaita album. Those are pictures of when I installed it. Also, the Maxca thread has installation pictures as well and that’s my car too. I tried the Maxca first but could not get the reverse camera and steering wheel controls to work, so I installed the Dasaita and everything worked on it.

here is the LX I am considering to get:
the actual screen (display) size is 5", based on that measurement, from the picture I calculated the full size of the dash opening , it is about 6.2 " long and 3.5 " high......that will get across opposite corners about 7".
As far as I can see, a 9" screen would need cutting a little bit on each into the dash to make it fit

unit did not fit my car . I was not told the vehicle dash needed modification and the unit cracked as it was too long for the original dashboard. 1 inch longer. I have supplied photos to the seller.

yes, there are many different no name chineese units are available on Aliexpress,etc...
however, sellers provide very little useful information, they did not even bother to list screen size, unit's measurements and likely most of them are not compatible with car's steering control or back up camera......it is a wild west place, and once you buy it ...it is yours.....no return....

Yes, everything you said there is true and that’s why I suggest the Dasaita although it’s the most expensive, I know it works and that they support their product. Okay then, I just measured mine, the hole is 9.5” and the Dasaita Max 10 PX6 screen is indeed 9” in size. All of the 2016-2022 HR-V dash are the same, all will have the same 9.5” opening for the head unit mount.

The Canadian LX base models have the terrible touchscreen HVAC controls as standard.
I would prefer knobs that can be used with gloves in cold weather.

Seat heaters are also standard on the Canadian base LX model.
