Does anyone else think it's strange...

...that Honda offers heated seats on the EX and leather on the EX-L, but does not offer power seats on any trim level? I find that absolutely astonishing, since power seats are just about standard on everything these days!

It's built to a price point.

How often to you adjust your seat that you need it to be power? That has always been a "feature" that has baffled me.

depends how many drivers there are. I remember when my brothers and I all had fresh licences, there were 2 cars and 5 drivers. Seats got shuffled for sure.
Yeah, my wife and I switch all the time as well, just doesn't bother me. I can adjust the seat faster than the power seats can anyways.

How many vehicles do you know of that has the gas tank located under the front seats instead of the back offering an unrivaled amount of flexibility and cargo space? Only the HRV and Fit, neither of which offer power seats up front because there is not enough room to fit the motors needed. It's a trade off I'd be perfectly okay with.

Exactly
I"m 5’10", my wife is 5’4", so we need a good 3" travel of the seat.
Takes less then half second in our manual civic.
I hate power seats, the motor whines, 1,2,3,4 seconds
Way to slow, I hate them

If that's the reason, so be it. Although I have never heard/read that elsewhere. BTW, a simple explanation is all that's necessary. No reason to be so defensive.:(

The defensiveness was non-intentional. I tend to come off that way a lot without realizing it.
Yes, I find it strange & disappointing. I can get crv for a little extra & it has power seats. I expected that the hrv exl would at least have it.
Remember though that those vehicles in the power seat price point do not option a power passenger seat, that's always an additional charge or just not optioned period. I could never figure that one out, why have one and not the other.
Our 2013 Mazda 3i Grand Touring, top of the line when purchased new Aug. '13 did not offer a powered passenger seat.

I know right!? I expect silver platter options to be standard in all trims!
At least for me it has way less to do with the "power" portion and more about the adjustability factor. Manual seats usually are 3-4 way adjustable, power is usually 10-12. There's a thread in here where people are suggesting unbolting the seats to "shim washers" under the bracket. It would be nice is there was an *option* to buy a trim to get a comfortable seat without having to ghetto-rig it and compromise safety in the name of comfort.
I never really thought about power seats. The manual adjustment is just fine for me. I just wish there was a way to raise the passenger seat like you can the drivers seat. My wife is barely 5'2 and when she is in the passenger seat, she ends up being really low.
Having owned 2 cars with power seats, I never want to own another. Lumbar adjustment and seat base adjustment would be welcome, but overall the current design works for me

My wife is the same height, but she doesn't complain about the seat.

Good for you. You want a cookie?

Yea it works for us too.

Yea. Want a tissue?
I had a 2013 BMW X-3 that had power everything. I don't miss it in the HR-V. Only problem is the car wash where they are always changing seat position due to shorter employees. We cannot wash cars in our Town House complex due to drought and water use restrictions. Just as well. Not one of those activities I enjoyed.
My sister (who was with me when I purchased) thought it was really odd too. It doesn't bother me, since I have never had power seats, and since I am the only one who will really drive it, it doesn't really matter.
