Hello, my new 2019 HR-V sport is the first cvt I’ve owned. I’ve owned a manual transmission all my life but I have driven a hybrid car with a cvt and countless automatic cars.
Recently I’ve noticed that it takes a second for reverse to engage when I shift out of park. Same goes with from reverse to drive and drive to reverse, etc. When I go to shift, the engine revs up a little (still under 2K rpm but more than idle) before whatever gear I chose (besides park) is engaged and the car moves
Is this normal or is there a defect that I can get resolved under warrantee?
