We typically lease for 3 years which is under the factory warranty. If we like the vehicle, and it is accident free, we will buy it and pay for the 7 year extended warranty. It makes for peace of mind if we keep it for 7 years or easy resale if we move it sooner. We have a 2009 Pilot with extended warranty to Aug. 2015. Our navigation unit just died and is being replaced this week. The cost of this repair is more than the cost of the extended warranty. We lucked out. A fully optioned vehicle has more stuff that can go wrong.Curious what the consensus is if those planning to buy would also do an extended warranty on this car. I typically avoid these, but wondering if buying a first year release of a new model would increase takers.
