Anyone had their HR-V instrument gauges flicker and garlbe? if so what was the cause?

I have a 2018 HRV that started doing this a couple weeks ago.

I literally had this happen to me last night! No fix yet but I plan on taking it to Honda.

I have the same issue with my 2018 hrv. It usually happens when its cold. It goes back to normal when the car heats up.
My 2016 EX just started doing this or sometimes just blanking on that same gauge, usually when cold. I’m sure hoping someone posts a solution soon.
Have you ask your local Honda dealer? Hopefully something as easy/cheap as a battery swap.

Any luck yet? My 2016 does the same thing. I’ve noticed that sometimes turning the heater fan on or off can give it a jolt back to normal. Just wondering if you’ve talked to Honda yet about this and if so, what their response was.
I have had the exact issue for over a year. I take it in and Honda says they have never seen the issue which I highly doubt. Still under warranty so they don't want to replace without seeing it in person. It is intermittent but I can make it happen in demand. I have tons of pictures and video. I too am afraid it will just quit working.
So if they need to see it happen and you can do on demand, why can’t they deal with it when you show them?

Just out of curiosity, how can you make it happen on demand? Mine only happens during cold weather like in a certain time of year or on a cold morning. I’m wondering if it has to do with moisture getting inside that particular cluster 🤔
Same here. I've had my 2016 HR-V since new and it just started doing this last spring in cold weather. The problem did not return until the cold morning this fall. After the car literally warms up, the display returns to normal. This tells me it is temperature related. I've asked my Honda dealership service manager to research this. He's seeing these posts but he has had not direct experience with this from any customers and is also scratching his head. Honda management has not sent him any bulletins on it, either.
I forgot to mention that the car is not moving when this happens. When the engine is started, the display is normal. After a few minutes the strange graphics show up and then the screen turns black. It stays this way for at least 10 to 15 minutes while driving and the cab warms up. I don't know if the ambient temperature in the cab has anything to do with it or if it is the temperature at the bulkhead behind the dashboard.
I'm an analog guy in a digital world. At least, that's what Joe Walsh says.
Same problem here with my 2016. Even though I have owned the car for 6 years, it just started happening this year when the weather turned cold. Seems to be temperature related but not always. Hard to diagnose and fix an intermittent problem like this.
I bought a 2018 HR-V in June of 2021 and this problem has just shown up after sitting outside for 10 hours(the car is garage parked) and noticed the digital guage doing the same thing. People are right it seems to just show up when very cold, it has been in the teens here in Pittsburgh. I thought something was going wrong and no it can't be the battery since all that was changed before I bought the car. I also am afraid to take to the dealer since it doesn't do it all the time and has only done it twice so far the first on Jan 24, 2022 and Jan 26, 2022. The first time it only lasted about a minute and the second time after sitting in my driveway for 2 hours lasted 2 miles before it came back. If anybody has any ideas let us know.
My car started doing this last year! Only happens during the winter months. It didn’t do it at all during spring and summer. Two days ago it started again, right when we were having the cold nights again. My battery died in my car, so I just took it yesterday to the dealership. They changed my battery, so hopefully it fixes everything. They did say the “cluster” behind the dash is going bad, which is why it’s doing the glitches and jumbled up words. They said the “cluster” is the brain behind the dash. My car is a 2018 HRV. I bought it brand new Dec 2017. Started doing it last year. Seems to be a problem these cars after reading this thread. They did say the “cluster” will cost $1600.00 parts and labor, but it is on back order with no ETA. Still baffles me that this is the problem, considering it only happens when it’s cold outside. You would think if it was going bad that it would just happen all the time, not just when it’s cold out.
Same here : 2019 Honda HR-V the electronic mileage gauge flickers and garbles, but usually returns to normal after the engine warms up everything - about 30 minutes.
Bought a 2016 HR-V and it's doing the same thing. Seems to resolve after warming up. Did anyone come up with a solution or is this just a cold temp problem and OK?

@rustman just in case you hadn't found the other thread with a solution:
