I have a 2019 Honda HRV. I recently started noticing a grinding sound when going uphill. I notice the sound comes and goes with "tension" or "strain", as in going uphill. I have not noticed it at level ground or going downhill. I notice the sound starts at the 35 mph mark, 1500 rpm, and if I am continuing uphill, it will come again at 40mph and again at 45mph. I just took my sales rep for a drive and had him listen for it. If you have music on or the windows rolled down, you won't be able to hear it. It only lasts for about a second, but it is a grinding/rattling sound. I am just trying to see if anyone else has had this issue and if so, was it ever pinpointed. Thank you.

Could be a heat shield on the muffler or something simple like that rubbing. Could be a bad motor mount, heck it could even be early signs of CVT failure but most of the failures I've seen reported don't start out that way.

So the dealer put it in a lift and looked into it but couldn't find anything?
