Honda Canada new pics, intriguing tidbits

Hi folks.

Last time I checked out the Honda Canada Future Vehicles site, there was only a single picture and press release wording. Now there's a lot less textual detail, but a new set of pictures... and I noticed a couple of intriguing things that I hadn't heard about elsewhere:

- Under Styling, there's a picture of the driver's side mirror folded back. Only reason I can think for having that picture is to imply power folding mirrors.

- Under Interior, there are two pictures that show some or all of the climate controls.

The first is the overall pic with the automatic. Though you have to zoom in to see and it's out of focus, the display seems to have temperature controls on both sides... i.e. red and blue arrows, as opposed to the white fan speed arrows on the right, as shown on the US site.

The second is the picture of the manual stick. It shows a portion of the climate controls, including three physical buttons below the touch screen (A/C, recirc, and rear defrog). Above that, the bottom row of the touch screen shows a SYNC label.

Are we getting dual-zone climate control?? Sure hope so!

Cheers... Perry.

I know the Vezel has folding mirrors, so it's not out of the question. On the Vezel I believe the button to operate the folding mirrors is near the controls for the windows, door locks, etc. Looking on the USA HR-V site, it appears this button is missing. Doesn't mean it couldn't be an option, or who know, maybe it'll be a Canadian specialty item.

It could be they folded the mirror back to take a better picture of the indicator light, on the US sight this same picture shows the light turning on when you open the picture. Not sure why they would fold the mirror for this photo other than it might isolate that feature more without having more of the car in the background.

Here is the US spec. door area

Here is a Vezel where you can see the button for the folding mirrors in the upper left

Looking like another "premium" feature they removed from the Vezel for the HR-V.

Interesting would be if the power folding mirror function is integrated in the keyholder (like all windows up or down function).
So you can still look behind you for traffic before you (or the passenger) open your door.
I notice in one spot it says "US model shown"
My dealers keep telling me to ignore the model information, ie colors and options, coming off US websites. Apparently their experience is that our vehicles tend not to be quite the same.
I guess we need more Northerly colors up here - 50 shades of white? :)

I'll see if I can get any info out of the reps tomorow..
There's a new video on the honda.ca site, and it clearly shows dual-zone climate controls (at about 1:06). In Celsius... so looks like we're getting it in Canada!!

That's great news for me.

I do remember that being a feature that was well received by Canadians which doesn't leave me surprised it was included!
It's great to see the stick shift pictured. Thanks!
Bicepeak, did you notice the climate control buttons in this picture?? Odd to have just those three buttons, apparently below a touch-screen... not sure what that's about, and this is the only picture I've seen with that combo.

Not the knobs you're hoping for, I know...

As far as I can figure, the LX should have the knobs I want. I think the LX does have the buttons on the bottom like that too. I don't know what trim level this picture is.
Often times I prefer having actual buttons or knobs instead of everything touch screen though. Makes it easier to hit buttons while driving.

Here is the Thai version of the climate control. I believe this what we will get on the LX.

(Ignore radio, we will not be getting that.)

I'm really hoping it's an ex or ex-l, because I want a manual and sunroof. Like you, I'd prefer physical buttons for climate, but not enough to give up sunroof, racks, and (maybe) navi, or at least honda-link navigation. Keyless entry would be nice, too.

But Manual transmission is pretty much non-negotiable.

Edit: Odd that the LX pic you posted has the same buttons, but on the Canadian pic they're under a touch-screen, not the Thai knobs. Seems a bit piecemeal.

Maybe Canada will be different , but here the EX and EX-L will get touchscreens.
