There have been a couple articles posted here on that info. Are you saying you saw something directly from Honda?Honda is happy to let everyone know that the HRV has been rated at 31 MPG by the EPA.
The HRV runs on a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 138 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. The 2WD model equipped with the CVT transmission gets 35 MPG on the highway, 31 combined. If you go for the 6-speed manual, the fuel economy sits at 25 MPG / 34 MPG for a combined MPG of 28. Finally the AWD 2016 HRV only comes with the CVT and is estimated at 27 MPG city, 32 MPG highway and 29 MPG combined.
Oh ok, It is interesting how Honda hasn't said a word. The automotive publications just came out with the news. Maybe Honda sent a press release out to them?I read about it in this article. I think its just the EPA and not Honda directly.

Nothing definite has come out, but it is very possible in the next year after the HR-V introduction, there could be a hybrid version. That is sure to get some fantastic mileage. The more bad news I hear, I might have to look at a Fit again. I need more MPG's
31 MPG combined isn't good enough for ya? What are you looking for as far as MPG goes? The more bad news I hear the more I might have to look at a Fit again. I need more MPG's
My 2008 Chevy HHR is getting 31-32 in the winter and 34-35 in the summer. I get over 500 miles per tank. At 120,000 miles it's time to replace it with something similar size with better mpg. Driving 80 miles a day. The Fit is smaller and I was hoping the HRV would be a good replacement. I am pretty sure the new Mazda CX-3 will do better than the HRV in mpg's but can't get past that NAV screen on top of the dash.Hybrid HRV does sound like a good move.

Do you want or need AWD? If not, then why not a Civic? Quoted MPG is in the 39 range, and real world it is north of that.My 2008 Chevy HHR is getting 31-32 in the winter and 34-35 in the summer. Not going to drive the HRV in winter until the HHR shits the bed (couple years anyhow) Civic too small used to the room in the HHR. I can carry 10 ft 2x6's in that thing.Do you want or need AWD? If not, then why not a Civic? Quoted MPG is in the 39 range, and real world it is north of that.
