As far as size and function they would be pretty much the same, but the styling is a bit different. Did anyone consider the Fit?

All it needs is the Subaru XV Crosstrek treatment :)
I see what you mean. There is little separating the Fit from the XV Crosstrek. Raise it up slightly and put some different rims on it.

I don't think that they will actually make a HRV subcompact since it would be exactly like the Fit. That really wouldn't make business sense. Though if the Fit didn't exist it would be a nice vehicle.

Very similar shape and size. They are just very similar cars IMO. Why don't you think they come that close to each other?
It's just that being a subaru, i thought it would be more geared towards off-roading and more capable. Meanwhile the fit being a fit.
