It looks to be the 1.5 from the Fit, but note that these photos were taken in Europe. I wouldn't draw any conclusions about the US spec HR-V from this.

HRV shares just about everything with the FIT so yes thats a fiar assumption. Also Honda has only announced the 1.5 for the HRV, so no surprises there...

Yea this isn't the most exciting looking engine bay, but I guess you can't expect too too much from the engine bay of this type of vehicle. Guess I won't be lifting the hood to show off the engine too much.

At least the majority of the people buying this won't be the type to care much about what the engine bay looks like from the factory. I doubt the majority of them will even pop the hood themselves.

If you did care what under the hood looks like, then you are probably the type of person who would invest money into a car like to make the engine bay look cooler, and up performance too. Not sure if too many people will take that route with the HRV though.

and with a vehicle like this, that's not the case, maybe years down the road when a lot of them hit the used car market and more and more tuners start picking them up .

I can see honda eventually adding a full engine cover as an upgrade for a future production year model

I only care about keeping the engine bay clean, giving it a spray down every so often like what I have done with many of my vehicles in the past.

I hate what an extremely dirty engine bay looks like, some people never wash their engine bays.
