There are some promising signs over the last year (link at bottom)...

1. Last year, Honda pulled back already shipped Fits from dealers, literally putting them back on the truck to Mexico, to fix flaws on the new production line.

2. Earlier this year, Honda's CEO publicly acknowledged worldwide quality issues and promised to improve on quality. He mentioned that the move from a single design for the world to localized design bureaus had contributed to quality failings.

3. Just today, Honda's CEO stated Honda would abandon it's 2015 sales targets, because the push to deliver so many vehicles had adversely impacted quality.

Those seem to me like positive moves. Mind you, they weren't done out of altruism. The Takata airbag recall and other problems focused industry attention on Honda's quality failings like a bright spotlight on a toad. But kudos to the CEO and Honda for handling it the right way. Admit the problems, and take measures to start fixing them. Here's hoping the HRV launch is a product of Honda's renewed emphasis on quality over quantity.

I think that number three seems like the biggest change to have happened. The 2nd one is not really an action, while the 3rd one is an actual action that is going to change something.

Not a bad move from the brands CEO. Now to see the improvements actually happen. Fortunately Honda being Honda, even with these issues, there will always be those folks that will feel more comfortable going with them over another brand.
