In my Honda vezel a smart key low battery warning appears in smart key even after replacing my the battery. I have replaced it couple of times and still the smart key does not work and the warning appears. I can start the vehicle only by pressing the key against the push start button.

If you have access to a multimeter you can test the voltage of the battery and compare your readings to the specs of the battery. Some cheaper or older shelf life batteries will have low output voltage.

I've had the same problem. Have you gotten anywhere with it? They've replaced the keyless access control until (said it was faulty and that the 2016's are failing), replaced one key fob, replaced the battery when that failed. 6 weeks later, 3 loaner cars each time they think they have it fixed, and a new battery after that failed and the light still comes on intermittently. I'm so frustrated I just want to sell the car. Have you found a fix?

Do the batteries you're using have a sticker on one side that must be removed before installation?

I encountered that with a key fob for a different make of car. Bought a 3-pack of batteries (2032's in that case). Installed a fresh battery right out of the package that night outside the store, and it didn't work. Tried a second one. Still didn't work. Gave up and stuck them back in the sack and drove home.
Next morning, I noticed there were stickers that were supposed to be removed.
All the new batteries and the fobs then worked just fine.

A small clue might be to check that your drivers door switch is working. The first time mine failed I had all kinds of weird symptoms like the key light coming on because the sequence of seeing a door open and trying to detect a key inside were out of sync.

Door switch failures are pretty common in this car, but most dealers seem clueless until you point it out. For me it happens only when it's cold out that it sticks (like this morning). Do your interior lights instantly come on when opening the door?

Hi guys,
I just joined the forum, with a 2017 HRV 1.6 diesel, 100'000 km.
I have this exact problem and I am not sure how to address it.
The signal of empty battery shows up after 3 weeks I put a new battery, clearyl it can't be the battery, as the first one lasted for more than 2 years.

Is it the start button? the keyless recognition unit? the antennas in the car?

Thank you for your help
Luca

What do you mean by door switch?
If you're refering to my post, I mean the black rubber switch on the frame of the car near the silver D ring door latch. In cold weather they can stick, causing weird sequencing where the car doesn't know the door opened and suddenly the key is missing.

Your solution to start the car by pressing the key against the push start- how did you came up with this solution? Yesterday my car won't start, so I had my neighbor give me jump, but the car won't start. Even though I didn't have a message of low key battery I decided to replace the battery, and sure enough I was able to start my car normally. Lesson I learned- keep extra batteries in your car for cases like this.

The owner's manual. It contains lots of useful info for the owner.
