This is what I got from a local Phoenix dealer....
"Nice to hear from you again, we still have no words and I don't see any vehicle on the production line yet. I will let you know as soon as I get any information. My assumption is the earliest to get the vehicles in would be second half of March, but most likely will be April - May. You waited for quite a long time now, just a little bit more...

I happen to have 7 Honda dealerships within a 40 minute drive of my house and I just emailed all of them asking when they think they'll be getting the HR-V. I'll report back what they say, hopefully one of them can confirm what looks to be shaping up as March or early April.
I'm in the Phx area as well and am new to Honda. Is there a dealership with a better reputation than others? Any to stay away from?

She said "but most likely will be April - May". She really doesn't sound all that certain on the timing really.
This would be my first Honda , too. I don't know which dealers are good or not.
The one I got the answer from has been nice, but when it comes to buying, it will be for the lowest price.
I am in the Baseline and 16th Street area. Where are you? Maybe we could keep in touch and when we see which dealer has them first we could check them out together.

Well, of the 7 dealerships I emailed here is the response I've had so far....I'm going to paraphrase....
#1 : Said he would do some digging for me to see if he could get something more specific than "Spring 2015"
#2 : They don't have much information on the status of the HR-V but will let me know when he finds out.
#3 : Honda has not set a firm date as to when the release date will be on the HR-V. Initially 1st quarter of 2015 was the target but it looks like it will be around 2nd quarter now.
#4 : No specific information on the vehicle at the moment.
#5-7 : No word yet.
So the dealerships in my area at least seem to be just as in the dark as everyone else. My guess is March some dealerships will have them, but wide spread availability might not occur until April or May.

Consider yourselfs lucky, latest word from my dealer in Belgium, delivery from early 2016!
Wow..and we thought we were waiting long!
I don't know,but I hope they start at the Mexican border and get to Phoenix first .

Just an update, I shot an email out to the dealerships that had responded to me earlier. One said that I can buy a "Black" one today which he is authorized for presale right now. I said thanks but no thanks, there's no way I'm buying a car without driving it first.
The other dealership said they have in the computer that they will have one delivered next month. He didn't know exactly which day just yet, but said he would let me know.
So, at least in Northern California it looks like dealerships will be getting at least 1 car in April.
