Modern Steel or White HRV?

64487 Views 104 Replies 25 Participants Last post by  HRV4ME
Been waiting for this vehicle since last year and have narrowed my choice to either a White or Modern Steel HRV EX. For me, the gray interior is way too light, so it has to have a black interior. Still not sure what the main differences will be between the EX and EX-L besides leather, but curious to hear from others on these two colors when it comes to the EX AWD model. Curious too on pricing. Would one over the other be easier to keep clean?

So far the differences between the EX and EX-L other than the leather include some more connectivity with the radio (like HD radio and Sirius XM), and standard roof rails on the EX-L. We should know more on pricing and full options in the near future.

Personally, I like both white and grey on the HR-V, BUT....I think there are far too many "shades of grey", including black and white, cars on the road today and I find it a bit depressing.

Can't help you too much on the details , but I share the same two choices in colors. I will have to wait to actually see them before I decide.
I have a slight preference towards the Modern Steel.

For me anyway, I actually consider white a bright "color" because it stands in contrasts to it's surroundings. I could never find it depressing. I probably wouldn't go for dark gray normally, except for the fact that the HRV looks so good in it.

Looking forward to seeing them in real life!
I should have said monochromatic....when I drive down the highway that's how it seems and I wish you'd see more colorful cars on the road. I completely understand why people end up with the neutral colors and why it makes economic sense to then offer those colors, but having lived with my silver car for many years I'm ready for a change.

My first car was very similar in color to the Modern Steel color. I then had an electric blue car and then a deep red truck. So I think it'll be green for me on the HR-V. If I can't find one in Green, my defaults are red, blue, white and grey (in that order).
Can't stand the black-gray-white invasion. Going purple here.

I understand completely your desire for more color. I think if I changed cars frequently I would do that too. But I keep my cars for a long time so I am afraid I will get tired of a brighter, more definite, color long before I am ready to get something new.
Black, black and more black. I love a black car. The modern steel is good too but my wife's Venza is that color. Hyundai has a cool looking Matte Grey on the Veloster. Wish Honda had that!

Use to like black too, but finally got tired of keeping it clean. More importantly, I don't think the HRV works as well in black as some of the other colors.

For me it is about what is easiest to keep looking clean. So Im going white or silver. My last Honda had black leather seats. Summer was tough on the backs of legs with black leather, so I'm going grey this time.

Good point on the light color. Here in Arizona, we often get dust storms with the light sprinkles so you end up with spots all over your car. Silver hid those well on my car and I think white will be a nice change for me and work well.
I like the gray interior, just wish it was darker gray. Going with black interior to help hide any dirt and scuffs.

Having seen in person both the pearl white and the modern steel, I'd personally opt for the white. The white looks more vibrant while the grey looks dull, even more so when it's out in the open.

I myself chose the black. It isn't the easiest to take care but it's still my favourite colour in a car.

That's why I prefer black too.
You going with white exterior?

I wish the blue was a midnight blue and not the bright/metallic one that the HRV will have. Almost has shades of purple at times in the sun.

I remember midnight blue from the sixties. A very elegant color and used a lot on luxury models. However, it really showed every nick and scratch you might happen to get. Might be different now with the use of clear coat.

While I am not keen on purple, per se, its changeability according to the light would help keep it interesting if you keep cars as long as I do.
Agree, that's why I narrowed it to White and Modern Steel, though unfortunately the blue also has gray interior.
