I have a 2016 Honda HRV So a couple of days ago I had to get a jump start because my car wouldn't start. After that I drove for a while at least a half hour I turned off my car I got back in about 10 minutes later I started it up and I took off I got maybe 10 miles away I stopped at another place turned off my car came back 10 minutes later my car wouldn't start so I had to call for a jump. I just put in a new battery a year not even a year and a half ago. I went to AutoZone they did a test on my battery my starter and my alternator they are all fine. I've cleaned off my battery cables the post everything I went on Amazon I bought a self jumping starter pack. Every time I've gotten into my car today I've had to jump my car. And then this evening when I went to back it out of the driveway and turn my wheel my radio turned off the brake system light came on and I felt a little jolt in the steering column. Whatever it is a lot of people are using the auxiliary mode has had some issues with their battery and the lights on their dashboard. I got my car back in 2016 about a year later a CD got stuck in my CD player the buttons on the radio stopped working only the dials work so I just left it alone but when I originally had to jump start my car the first time some of my button started to work again like the axillary mode so I used my phone to play some music after that it's been having to jump myself every time and the problem with when I go to turn my steering wheel my radio will turn off and that braking system light will come on. Has anyone else had this problem? If so do you have a solution?
my rule of thumb is that if a battery will not start the car;;;;;replace it

Twice the battery died on me but both occasions they were just past 2 years , I have a Battery /Charger voltmeter always in the Cig lighter but still those 2 batteries escaped attention to die suddenly . Now I give the battery a Smart Charger recharge when the car is not driven for several days like a week in the garage . Batteries self discharge to 60% in a week's time . I will religiously replace them after 2 years . Current battery ( 3rd ) has only 10 months more of use then I replace it . It will not escape me this time . My HRV was new last March2016.

Make sure that your battery manufacturer is Penn State Battery. They make Duracell and Presently Honda batteries. 99.9% lead is used in these batteries. The new replacement Honda offers comes with a ten year/ 100,00 mile warranty. They knew that 2016-2018 models needed battery replacement. Not to worry about later years.

10 years on a battery ?? never
they prorate them anyway - not free replacement.... and i think Honda OEM is 30 months ( some maybe 36 max.)
NEW manufacturer for Honda brand batteries. Not cheapos any more
Only free battery if the car is still in original bumper to bumper warranty .Any
ANY NEW BATTERY FROM HONDA IS MADE BY PENN NATIONAL.
ANY HONDA BATTERY FROM 2016-2018 IS ON BORROWED TIME.
if you would rather risk the dreaded click click click, buy the cheapos.

Request the new 10 year battery, not the 30 month.
Aftermarket and factory are different even though they are both classified as OEM
I bought a Duracell at Sam's which carries the best specs for the price. They install it at no cost. A year later it holds up to demand quite well.
Duracell is made by the top battery manufacturer, Penn National

I wonder what the price diff is ?
Well, what is peace of mind worth to you?
I recently retired from 30 years of fleet work. We had Motorcraft Delco, and Fleetrite 10 year batteries make it past their rated lives
Cheaper than buying 3-4 units in the same period .
Batteries are a science and must be engineered for their particular use.

Sorry, but IMHO your first problem is using Pep Boys! Years ago bought a battery there, hubby went to drive the car out of the parking lot and it died. Some smart-a asked him if it was the first time he'd driven a clutch (we're far from young, so he was quite miffed ... the car was only about 5 at the time, and still looked brand new, as she did when I traded her in at 23+). Come to find out they had never charged the battery before installing it, and were quite "oh well" about it. Hard to find good employees in all fields these days, but this was about 20 years ago and they were horrible even then. No one seems to give a crap about their work product, and it certainly shows with this company.
Cheap is as cheap does . Sam's has top rated units and free installation.
Their vendors keep them fresh and rotated.
