When and where is the MA show? And more importantly, is there any word when the car will be available in the US at all? (Never mind when will it be in MA?!) I would think they'd want to get it out there while the weather is still bad - although maybe they're banking on selling a bunch more CR-V's first..

The New England Auto Show is in Boston from Thurs., Jan 15th to Mon. Jan. 19th. This means it starts for the public before the Detroit Auto Show. Many in the forum will be anxious to read and see what you can find out at the show about the HR-V. Take a lot of pictures and have a good time, OP.

I'm hoping that the HRV shows up at the Toronto auto show in February. Don't know if that will happen yet, but I'm crossing my fingers. This is the time to show off the car if they are aiming for a summer release though.

Sweet - I have a slight chance of getting there.. if I do, I will take pics for sure.. Anybody know when any of these cars will become for sale anywhere in the US? I'm really wanting one. Not loving the Mexico plant thing.. we did have an 03 accord that was made there.. it was fine.. Someone mentioned they were having problems at the new plant - any details on that? Anyway, I'm kind of anxious for this car myself.. Thanks to all for all the updates!

Well, Franklyfrank - here's the VIN for the Accord we purchased brand new in 2003 (we don't have it anymore). We forget exactly how the VIN numbers/letters "work" at the moment, so I'll let you be the judge: 3HGCM56333G713430

Meantime - just wishing I knew when it would get here, and being bummed that someone said it looks like a mini-van.. Hate that thought.. might have trouble getting it out of my mind! I was looking at some of that video - and I had thought it had LED's around the headlights, but didn't see them. Not a big deal though. We are a bit concerned about buying a "first year" car - are they making the Vezel at the same factory in Mexico, where I hear they are using people instead of robots because they are less money? Hmm. I want to keep wanting this car.. I need to get a car and it will either be a CR-V or this car, and I could use to save some $$ and have a smaller car.. But - there are some buts.. for now!

Frankie, I think I was the one who made the mini-van remark. I said the CR-V not the HR-V. I don't think the HR-V looks at all like a mini-van.

Oh good! Thank you for clarifying! I thought the CRV looked okay.. it was nice inside too - a lot different than my 2001! - I didn't really notice that it looked like a minivan - although there are SUV's that are borderline.. I'm glad you don't think that of the HR-V. Now I can go back to wanting one! I did just read a car and driver article that said things weren't going well at that plant, but it looked a few months old - so here's hoping!

are they making the Vezel at the same factory in Mexico,
The Vezel is made in Japan for the Japanese market. Honda has factories that will be making the HR-V / Vezel in Japan, China, Indonesia, Brazil, and Mexico (at least those are the ones I know of).

All HR-V's for sale in North American will be produced at the plant in Mexico, for now at least.

When it comes to quality issues, I'm hopeful that the plant in Mexico is working out the bugs on the Fit which they are already producing.
