No Super Bowl Ad For Honda....But Why??

As the week went on it became clear that Honda was not going to have a Super Bowl ad this year, much less one showing the HR-V. I came across an article explaining why several auto makers pulled out of advertising at the big game this year.

However, I was shocked when I read this part in the article......

"When you look at the auto ads in the Super Bowl, a number of them will be for new models launching this spring," said Jon Swallen with Kantar Media, a research firm which tracks advertising. "The timing this year doesn't work for the product launches from several automakers."
WAAAA????UMMM HR-V.....SPRING 2015......RINGING ANY BELLS OVER AT HONDA CORPORATE???????

In all fairness they didn't call out Honda specifically saying that they weren't advertising because they don't have a new model, but the fact that Honda is missing out on the largest TV audience of the year is interesting. It also makes me wondering if they've been so tight lipped because there are more problems getting the HR-V production going then they are willing to let on and Spring might turn into Summer, or Fall, or Winter, or next Spring, or.......?????

Ugh, the wait goes on.......Enjoy the game everyone, should be a good one!:D

I am thinking along the same lines. It almost seems Honda had this grand schedule laid out from reveal to dealer. Then Mexico happened. Kind of caught in a bad place ....can't go back and do it over, so has to stumble ahead while everyone waits for info to dribble out. Seems it can't even provide enough cars for shows.

I could have it all wrong, but one can only wonder.:|
