We'll see how the rubber seal holds up over time. Instead of being hard plastic to lock into the assembly they use rubber as sort of a "one size fits all" solution. It's in there, but if the rubber gets dry/brittle then I could see some issues down the line.
No hyper flash and the plastic resistor box sits just fine in the body pocket below the tail light assembly.
I would get them to replace the front as well but I see a lot of these bulbs come with warnings that they shouldn't be used in applications where they're stuck on (which they do in the front as they work as almost parking lights).
Those look good. I'm glad you were able to find something with a built resistor. I cut a single wire on the connector and taped it back to keep the amber light from staying on all the time.
I've bought some from XSS Digital a couple times. They're the only other seller I've seen, other than Nighteye. The last time I saw Nighteye selling them directly, they were being shipped from China and shipping time was about 2 weeks.
Neverland Auto Parts is Nighteye. This is a screenshot from their official website. FYI, it looks like they changed their name to "NovSight Auto Lighting".
I guess they never restocked those, so i ended up buying the BEAMTECH H4 LED headlight from Amazon for $38.99. Still haven't had the chance to install it, the thing that concerns me is that theres a wire attached to the light..hopefully it'll fit perfectly.
UPDATE:
So I finally installed it today, the one i bought doesn't have a fan, but a heatsink instead. However, I wasn't able to install the rubber weather seal, will this be an issue on the long run?
Im not using mine, but my car sees very little rain, always garaged and washed with rinseless. Your situation may be different. The light modules are vented so condensation shouldnt be a problem. My lights are seated very tightly with a good seal.

Thanks for the replies,
I live in San Diego, and we see very little rain.
Now just gotta drive more with it at night to make sure its not too bright for oncoming drivers.
I have been searching various sites for the correct replacement for the 2018 LX bulbs. Can someone confirm that the HB2 bulb is correct for this year and model? This is from the Honda manual, but it seems as though others have used different permutations (are 9003 and H4 identical?). Are they truly interchangeable?
Also does the 2018 HR-V use the headlights as DRL, specifically does this HB2 bulb function as the DRL?
Thanks. Dumb questions but there seems to be so much fluff on the web about these lights that is confusing!
High/drl and low are both on the same bulb. It’s dual filament.
You need 9003/hb2/h4 any will work on your car.
The different part numbers are due to the fact they used have different manufacturing tolerances/specs.
Now a days most are created equal and you shouldn’t really worry about what you choose as long as it’s a quality bulb.
Sounds to me like you need to find a different dealer to work with going forward. Their service department is the kind that get called 'stealership'. How far to the next closest Ontario dealership? Or authorized service independent garage?
The nearest dealership is in the next city over...say about 40 minutes one way. I got fed up like they wanted and figured $115 to look at it or I can buy one and install it for $120....
It is on its way.
PS: Hyper Flash. The lights I've been buying appear to be well made and of good quality.
I tried the resister route and they insert won't twist in the Honda mounts. They tongues were set slightly differently. Tried buying resister included bulbs.. the original LED replacements ares 15 mm the new ones are 20 mm...they don't fit into the holes....they are a little big! I'm currently looking for yet another fix! View attachment 29548View attachment 29549
