'Slow close' of front seat armrest/Console lid

I 've had my HR-V for nearly 10 months now and don't even know if I have this problem, since I rarely open the arm rest-the only thing I keep in there are a few hard candies. I bought an aftermarket wedge mount cup holder/organizer from Ebay for less than $5 and use it to hold my phone, coins etc.

I have a water bottle I keep in one of the original car's cup holders and it is just the right height to extend the armrest, so I can actually rest my arm by putting it on the water bottle top.
