Hey guys,

I recently replaced the interior (dome and vanity) and license plate lights with LED lights. I also plan on doing an HID Retrofit and LED DRL Fog lights in the near future. I figured I'd create a single thread for my mods.

Here are pics of the interior and license plate lights. You can tell how bright they are by the way the license plate lights light up the floor.

Mine came with red, black, and white wires. The instructions were in Chinese, but when I connect the black to the ground side and red to the positive of the battery, the lights light up, even with the car off. Nothing happens when I touch the ground or positive with the white cable. I'm not sure what it's for.

Since I didn't want the lights on all the time, I used a fuse tapper and connected the red wire to one of the headlight fuses. Now they turn on whenever the lights are on. I plan on eventually adding a switch for them so I can turn them on manually.

The white wire is likely a dimming function. If you take the positive and put it to acc power such as tapping into somewhere in the fusebox that only gets power when the ignition is on the lights will come on with the ignition as opposed to when you turn the lights on. And if you connect the white wire where you currently have your positive on the headlights it will likely dim the drl's when the headlights come on and go to full brightness when they are off. That is the function that I am after, although I am not sure that the harness with mine has that function as it appears it wants one wire going to power, one to ground, and then one to each turn signal. In my case I may have to buy another harness such as yours on ebay.

Weird, anyways this is the harness I think i'm going to get

Also what shrouds did you get for your projectors? Did they require much cutting?

Let me know if the harness works out for you.

The shrouds are Apollo 1.0. I had to cut more than I hoped for. I originally bought the complete kit for a 2nd Gen Honda Fit, which has huge headlights. If I knew I'd be using them on an HRV, I would have gone with the Morimoto Mini 3.0 with X (Square) lens and smaller shrouds.

Thanks guys.

The reflectors look like that due to the flash. Although, I have been wanting to replace them with actual lights. I just can't find a nice looking set. I want something like this.

1SlowHRV,

Personally I think it's too much chrome if you ask me. I don't criticize people on their modifications but since you asked for an opinion then I'm going to give you my 2 cents. Maybe remove the 2 chrome on the bottom reflector to lessen up the bling?

I bought them on Aliexpress. It took me a couple hours to finish the driver's side but most of the time I was trying to figure out why the lights wouldn't turn on with the door switch. Turns out that it's a switched ground, not power, and I used a fuse for power. I'm planning on installing the passenger side today and will have to look for a power source again.
