Supercharger/Turbo for Honds Hrv?

I may be wrong but I'm pretty positive that if you all take your time to look at this short video https://youtu.be/hlEEHHLW3eQ at 0:24 the r18 motor looks like it has a turbo with blow off valve. I've tried to look for that particular car to see the specs but nothing has popped up. Looks amazing in my opinion and makes me curious how much power it is making compared to stock.
Incase you guys are wondering, I'm 19 a car guy. I just became intrested in the hrv recently because I can upon a picture of one that was lowered and it looked really nice alot like a hatchback

IMO you should start with upgraded BRAKES!
I wouldn't even dream of adding even a low pressure turbo or supercharger to the 1.8L HRV if you have a CVT transmission.

If you have a front wheel drive 6 speed manual transmission HRV and you want to add a turbo or supercharger, the 1st step is to crack the HRV ECU so you can customize it to support the power adder...
Good luck!

After you have cracked and have full control of the HRV ECU, then hopefully the HRV fuel system and clutch can be upgraded.

Then you can start the process of installing/fitting/modifying the supercharger or turbo and intercooler.

Nuttin' to it. Check Youtube for all the details... :)

He spoke about swapping the na 1.8 for a turbo 1.5.

I would be worried about the transmission holding the additional torque
If you fit the transmission that is installed with the 1.5 turbo, that should negate this concern.

About a year ago, I suggested swapping the entire CRV drivetrain into an HRV (190hp/stronger CVT/retain AWD). I think I was told I was crazy. I didn't think my '19 CRV was a powerhouse but it was sure better than my '21 HRV.

Hey guys! I have a 2017 HRV 1.5 I-vtec Manual!

I was thinking, what could I do to get some more performance out of it? Can I add a turbo? Is it safe to tune in different ways maybe?
I sadly can’t go the easy route and chip tune it as it doesn’t have a turbo to tamper with, please let me know and maybe some body kits or stuff to do! :)
Anything is possible but if you are asking on this forum. Then most likely nothing off the shelf is available and unless you have your own shop. Buying parts is simple but installation and making it function will costs you several thousands for tuning and fine tuning. So it’s a no go, engine management is expensive and not readily available for under $3k.

What do you mean by engine management sorry?
where could I buy the parts though, I don’t know what to buy and where! Then I will deal with the rest
If you have the CVT, you will need a stronger clutch, and possibly a new trans that isn't a CVT. Add that to the costs of programming that pearlwhite01 mentions, and you might as well just buy another car that comes with a turbo.

Mines not a CVT as it’s Manual right? So I wouldn’t need to bother with that. Idk but I wanna know where I can find stuff for the car or universal stuff that fit on the car.
The ECU is engine management. The Honda one will need to continuously calculate the correct fuel and air. Take into account all of the other variables that are needed. You can slap a turbo on anything and it would run. But for it to run efficiently and effectively is another question. Your car will run like garbage without at least $6k invested and then it probably won’t run properly still. The time and resources that would have to be invested in this is a no go full stop. Buy another car. Your car is to get you from point a to point b. If you have the resources for multiple cars, then by all means, go drop $10k on this. But in Europe space is a luxury? You probably don’t have space for multiple cars?
Alright I get you now, it will probably be better to get a secondary car and make it a project I guess. Although I was thinking of adding a custom exhaust which had the cat delete on the Honda, making it a two exit exhaust. What do you think about that? It won’t effect anything right?
Exhaust will add sound and better response and minimal horsepower. It definitely is a good modification. I have had several cars with exhaust systems. It’s something I will gladly spend money on.

Good to hear, I got a quote from the guy and he told me €1000 for the full custom exhaust, which he will customise it for two exits, which is hard for the HRV cause it doesn’t have the grooves but he could do it, also with the price for the day that I will have to pass the vehicle road worthy test he will change it back to the original for free and so on, what do you think, only guy I could find to do it for me
@LenzoGIB Have a search online for Japanese tuning specialists near you, there is quite a market and set up for this in the UK, so may be the same where you are? The 2003 EP3 Civic Type R came with a na 2.0 and was able to be modified to the nth degree.

As for swapping the exhaust, not sure how sustainable financially it will be for the garage to keep changing the exhaust over for the ITV, considering they will have to do it twice for each ITV - off and back on. And the same for every year after that. You would also have to find storage for the unused one, and consider how you are going to carry the extra exhaust to and from the garage. There is also the insurance situation as well.

The European market had a MkII HR-V Sport 1.5 turbo that came with a twin exhaust, however, to accommodate it, Honda reduced the size of the underfloor boot storage to fit it in.

These were rare in the UK and only sold from 2019 - 2021, so the twin exhaust stands out, which may lead to you being pulled over if the Guardia Civil Trafico use ANPR like their counterparts in the UK do, and wonder why your non turbo HR-V spec vehicle has twin exhausts?

As an aside, Spanish flag with GIB in User name?

Sounds like you need to do a TON of research before starting a project like this...

Hey buddy! I’m born and raised in Gibraltar :) I’m currently living in Spain dude! But yeah, I do get you with the lowered boot level, cause he did mention to put in the second exhaust he needed to cut out, or remove a cover that’s underneath the boot, idk what it is exactly?
I don’t think the civil will be doing that, as there’s custom exhausts crossing the boarder left right and center, I do get what you mean though.
The exhaust will be cut in 2 pieces, travelling with it will be easy for me, I’ve also got a big house anyways so I can store freely. The guy was happy to do so yearly without a doubt!
I think it would be a cool touch to the Honda, as I’m also murdering it out in black, custom taillights and more!
He has charged me 1000€ which I think should be fine tbh, as it’s a full custom exhaust, it would be nice and give me maybe a tiny little boost of 5 BHP if lucky 😂 but I’ve tried it to see what it sounds like and it’s nice af, I was thinking to add a valve but it doesn’t fit as the exhaust channel is quite tight and narrow!
I wish I got my hands on a sport one ;-;

I plan to put a turbo my car in the future so I’m gathering as much info as I can. I want to ask ppl who have experience putting one together. Any tips or pointers very much appreciated it.
Tip - save your money and buy a car with a turbo. This engine and transmission combination won't easily support it.
