Hi fellow HR-Vers,
I have a '17 HR-V with the defective pearl white paint that didn't start peeling until after the last extension of the recall. I spoke to Honda corporate who referred me to the dealer where I had most of my service done. The cost to repaint the affected area (basically the roof)
was $2K and there was no guarantee the rest of the car wouldn't start peeling too.
The car is mechanically sound, has a little over 100,000 mi, but that small spot (about 5 " x 3")on the roof is showing bare metal so I would like to do something before the cold weather hits us in New England.
A body shop suggested I explore vinyl wraps for cars. It seems like it might be a reasonable, less expensive option. I went to a local shop and looked into it. The cars they were working on looked very impressive. I was told with proper care, the wraps can last 8- 10 years.
Does anyone have any experience with such things?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

alternative. Has anyone
