Interested in knowing what happened...
At the top of a snow covered hill, I stabbed the brakes just to see how the ABS would react. It seems that all 4 wheels momentarily locked at the same time. This fooled "Brake Hold" into thinking that the car was at a stop. As a result, it held the brakes on even after I had released the brake pedal. The car skidded out of control, going sideways to the bottom of the hill. At the time, I was unaware of what had actually happened. However, after thinking about it, I tried it again the next time it snowed. This time when it started skidding, I tapped the throttle and the brakes released regaining control.

Of course in a car wash the car has to be left in neutral, brakes off, so it can be pushed along by the rollers.
