Our used 2016 LX HRV just had an alarm/remote problem also. The alarm went off one evening.
In our case, the primary remote was failing. It was not dead, the battery in the remote was fine, but the remote would not do anything except the LED on the remote would come on and stay on when a button was pushed.
The 2nd remote worked fine.
For some reason the failing remote was setting off the alarm.
A replacement remote by the Honda dealer fixed the issue.
Here are the steps I took while diagnosing the issue:
1. Check the battery voltage with the vehicle off. Should be close to 12V.
2. Check each door, rear hatch and hood. Open and close each numerous times while watching the info Led in the dash.
3. Check both remotes for proper operation.
4. If you have a remote starter or aftermarket alarm, check if the remotes for them are all working correctly.
5. If you have any aftermarket devices plugged into the HRV, remove them.
If all checks ok and alarm is still going off, then the Honda dealer is the best choice. They can review a log of the alarm module with the Honda diagnostic tool (HDS) to see if one of the door/hatch/hood sensors is failing.
The HRV service manual makes no mention of shock sensor for these vehicles. Our 2016 LX HRV definitely does not have a shock sensor for the alarm.
Just my suggestions. Hopefully something simple like our issue turned out to be.
