I notice regular front floor mats do not work well in the HR-V and on the driver's side this can be a safety issue.

Weathertec mats are nice but very pricy--what options are out there that are great for winter and affordable?

Thanks for your replies.
I bought the smartliner floor mats through Amazon. Just installed it yesterday. It fits well and easy to install.

I got these when I bought my car. They're holding up amazingly, and they're super easy to clean. Perfect tight fit too. I recommend them!
Thanks for the info. Sadly they want to charge us $70 to ship them to Canada so that makes them pricier here than in the USA (no surprise there). The look good in the photos that people posted in their reviews and I would have opted for them if I were in the USA. In Canada we are ripped off on so many things (e.g. cell phones, bank fees, etc.--you name it). So we shop carefully and have to settle for less many times.

Ugh, that sucks. Sorry to hear. I'm sure you can find an alternative though!

I got mine from tuxmat.ca for my 2021 HRV sport.

I had the same make in my 2018 HRV EX. Canadian made. Decent customer service. Another option for you

I got my Husky floor mats from Amazon. They're specific to HRVs. And similar in quality to Weathertech. Very satisified with the purchase.

For the floor mats to remain in situ they require the little floor mounting points to be installed.

I originally had these Honda OE Rubber Mats in my HR-V when I first purchased my vehicle. They are of good quality and robust. I only purchased the Weathetech items as the Honda ones did not go up high enough in the front footwells, essential requirements when you go dog walking in Central Scotland and you own Staffies!

For general day to day use the Honda OE ones would be more than adequate, and they are of better quality, and more importantly, much cheaper than the Weathertech. Another negative with the Weathertech is, unlike the Honda OE mats, the front passenger mat does not have the securing slots installed, the drivers side does. To prevent the Weathertech from slipping I have the Honda OE securely installed underneath. I emphasise I only do this on the passenger side, not the drivers, as they have the appropriate security mountings in place.

I did end up gettting these and I like them. They stay put and were pretty easy to clean after the winter using a salt remover product. I use them year round and I do see some wear starting where my heel rests while driving. I could not clean them last year due to recovering from open heart surgery but I'll wash them soon as the weather stays a bit warmer. The price is now $129 Ca. at Amazon.ca for anyone who might be interested. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B014KP9FTW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
