I thought I will share these quick tips as I found them in various threads and not in one place:
- Make sure the brake fluid is filled to the MAX mark before starting brake bleeding. Check the level frequently and bring it back up to MAX
- Loosely place the brake fluid reservoir cap back on the reservoir before staring the bleeding. If the cap is tightened, fluid won't come out of the bleed valve because of the vacuum created in the reservoir
- 2017 HRV front bleed screws are 10mm, rear bleed screws are 11mm
- Front brake calipers can be bled without removing the wheels, just turn the wheel all the way out
- Rear wheels must be removed to bleed rear calipers because the bleed valve is on top of the brake rotor vs. to one side
- Honda recommended bleeding order for US models (left hand drive): LF, RF, RR and LR
- Bleed valve tightening torque: front 6.3 lbft, rear 8 lbft
- Rear lift point for floor jack: tow hook
