What do you dislike about the HRV?

this is very true, but I think right now it's sort of fair that they haven't put out enough info on it, there's enough out there to keep us interested. I'm hoping that by the end of the year we hear more.

I do like what we know about the specification - Size, height, AWD, rear camera, sunroof, Fit electronics. Rather than dislikes I have some apprehensions:

- Quality in the new Celaya plants

- High level of noise (it is supposed to be quieter than the Fit 2015 that is quieter than previous models - will it be?)

- Weak engine for the car weight (1.5l)

- The lack of news is making me paranoiac - Is Honda hiding some bad news about delays?

- If the car is in high demand, will the dealers become abusive.

Noise is one issue I have learned to accept when it comes to honda since just about everything else about their vehicles are great.

I think if they put a turbo on that 1.5, it would do wonders for the HRV, or even if they go slightly smaller in displacement, like 1.3L and throw on a turbo.

Regarding Honda's secrecy about the spec of the HR-V. In Japan, details about the Vezel came-out just before the car went on sale. May be Honda is planning to do the same in North America - spec in December and sell in January.

Although we are fuming because Honda is leaving us in the dark, they are also not revealing their hand to the competition.

If they were fully predictable, like using the Fit 1.5l engine, the competition would have an easy time. My guess is that they are planning a nice surprise and they do not want the competition to get ahead of them - again (HR-V is playing catch-up with Crosstrek, Tukson, Sportage, Tiguan, etc.)

As a petite woman, who has to pull the seat way up to drive, I would love to have an armrest on the seat, rather than on the center console. I have a CRV now and it is a lifesaver to rest my arms on long commutes on the sear armrest. But I haven't seen any seat armrests in any of the photos I've seen so far...

I am very concerned with the weak power of the HR-V (Fit) engine. I hope they don't follow the example of the Mazda CX-5 where in the first year they came out with a 2.0 liter engine and the following year you were able to get the 2.5 l engine in the GS and GT models. Even the AWD option for the 2015 HR-V has not been stated as a sure thing.

Enjoy Gutless.

The HRV is being built in the same Mexican factory as the 15 fits. Very unlikely to have anything but a 1.5l engine. What would they currently put in it? The ILX 2.0?? Dreaming. A new earth dreams 1.8 civic Engine? Nope. It needs at least as big of an engine as the civic but I think we are all going to get spoiled with a weaker than a Fit SUV. With AWD CVT and the ability to tow a fisher price plastic wagon.

Oh and don't put more than one passenger in it or forget pulling the wagon.

Bought a 2016 HR-V

My wife bought an HR-V... It's an EX-L. For her, it's perfect. Most of her driving is less than 5 miles per trip.

For me, it's not perfect. The seats are cheap -- Leather upholstered but cheap. Sitting on those front seats for a long trip would be a problem. Sitting in the back seat is a big problem: The headrest does not go up high enough for taller adults. It's noisy at highway speeds. It is severely underpowered when driving in the hills.

Other than that, there was an issue with the paint. Honda sprays some new kind of protective coating on the vehicles to protect them during transport. (1) The dealer did not have any of the special chemical needed to remove the protective coating. (2) After they got the chemical and removed the protective coating, there was a problem with the paint sealer. After it was applied, the paint appeared to develop something that looked like waterspots in the paint. It required 2 days of buffing to straighten it out. I am not sure who is at fault for this: Honda Inc. for making a funky paint protection, the dealer for improper application of the paint sealer, or the paint sealer. I will probably never get o the truth.

Ummm, you perhaps for removing it? Does it NEED to be removed? I don't recall anyone mentioning it before now.

1) I would like a bit more leg/foot room in the driver's seat. It feels a bit cramped on the left side. Also, I'd like to be able to bring my left foot all the way back under the seat, but it bumps into the raised area there.
2) The navigation system is sub-par compared to Google Maps on the iPhone.
3) Would like 25% more power, but not at the expense of fuel consumption.

Overall, though, I really like the car.

HATE the fact that (as driver or passenger) I can't bring my feet back due to the gas tank bump - or put things under my feet there.. Re the ugly vent, you can turn it off from blowing, which, when I am passenger, is hugely great!

The Eco nanny is a little obtrusive although my girlfriend loves the pink and purple. I just don't know why there is no option to turn it off. Obviously the carpet but Weathertechs are always a first upgrade for me. I actually love it other than that. The stereo will be an aftermarket fix as well and I don't dislike the "gash vents" as much as I originally did seeing the photos. I don't feel it's that underpowered and when I go to nitpick, I constantly remind myself it was $19,800 out the door!

Dislikes:
1. All USB / HDMI / 12v charger below the center console.
2. No where to place my Samsung Note 3. That "Slot" on the center console barely fits, If I made a turn itll fall out.
3. Faux Carpeting. (Replaced with weathertech's already but still)
4. Cargo Mat from OEM is very plain looking and I can get a better quality for $20 that you can cut yourself. (Armor All Cargo Mats Cut to Fit)
5. Leg Room when driving is very tight with the hump underneath the seat.

I wish my door frame were not fabric and that the radio would display what song was playing like it does on our truck.

Basically the only things that disappoints me.

I actually like the passenger side vent line.

Oh, if we want to get picky, the purple isn't very purple.

On the fm radio as source, just what station it is. No song info. I'm coming from a 16 year old car, so I never had a fm radio that told me what song was playing, but most of the newer vehicles I have been in have this. I'm just surprised not to have it in the hrv.

Pandora and Bluetooth from my phone do display that info.

What is up with the odd left edge of the driver side mirror? Not a fan of how the last section angles and has that line on it. Eyes can't focus through it. Anyone know what I am talking about? Never seen that design before.

edit: just found a link to an article about it: http://www.businessinsider.com/honda-eliminates-blind-spot-with-better-mirror-2014-2

BTW, love everything else about this car! (and yes my EX-L shows artist info for FM stations that broadcast it)
