You could always purchase something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Delta-Cycle-...p/B000ACAM9C/ref=pd_lpo_468_bs_tr_t_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=B9BJA4WMAQ28ND1RG128

and bolt it through the rear hatch floor plate. Use some wing nuts for quick removal, and when it's not there you'd only have 2 small holes in the floor.

I had 2 xl frame 29ers in the back this weekend, the wheels were up past the front seat and swishing around, I had been thinking about this as an option.
I was thinking of getting fork mounts similar to that and bolting them on to a thick/heavy plywood. I can add some rubber anti-slip pieces to the bottom to keep them from sliding around.

or get something like this.

I searched the Forum but no luck so far. I've not measured the inside width of an HR-V back seat area yet. My bike is 64 inches (162.6 cm) long from front to rear. If the front wheel is canted to the side a bit will it fit in a HR-V without removing the front wheel? Thanks. 🚴‍♂️

I just measured my mountain bike. it’s about 74in and it fits without removing the wheels. I do have to turn the front wheel though

I had a Honda Fit for many years and loved that I could get my road bike into it upright if I removed the front wheel and with the rear seats down. Is this possible in the HR-V; doesn't anyone have the cargo area height dimension? A few years ago I "upgraded" to a Subaru Forester and was very disappointed that the cargo area height was less than in my Fit and there was no way a bike would fit into it upright. I'm looking to go to an HR-V as it seems to inherited the Fit's large cargo area and now has AWD and higher ground clearance to boot.

Thanks much for your time!

Thanks to the innovative Magic Seat inherited from the Fit, I was able to fit my men’s Trek with the quick release tire removed, inside my 2018 HR~V EX AWD, away from being affected by the weather as well as eliminating any chances of it falling off a roof rack, (as well as the back breaking efforts needed for mounting and taking it off the roof, not to mention the wind drag especially driving on the highway) or coming off of a trunk rack. Easy placing in and taking out without any chances of damaging your vehicle, like you would with mounting and unmounting your bike from a roof or trunk bike rack. This frees up the use of your full trunk cargo area as an added bonus! Of course, if you just came off a trail with mud, you may want to either wipe down your bike first or bring a tarp to wrap your bike with before placing it into your vehicle!
In my opinion I’d rather transport my bike with the tire off and in the back seat area other than trying to drag the entire bike sideways in and out of the cargo area, even though as shown in this post, that it is possible. To me, much more of a hassle and more of a chance of damaging your cargo area or bumper, as well as your bike!
