So I received the lights but they were H7 base and not H4.
I emailed the seller and he was very responsive he will replace them and let me keep the H7's (which I am not sure I can use anywhere, but it is fine)

when they come I will install. and post some pics.

Regards

Nick

I as well got a set of Nighteyes. they are coming on Tuesday. I will try to post before the after pictures.

Regards

Nick.

LED Lights have been there for a while now.
I like the light output. It does not seem to have excessive bleeding. I see the well defined line where the low beams end. they do not seem to blind other people.
I drove the car in pitch dark roads and I am impressed with the increased visibility.
All and all a good investment.
I would say a set of OEM LED's should be a good addition in the next few model years of HRV.

Cheers

Nick

I also received the H7, not once but twice! Now I have the correct H4 and got to keep the H7's, hope to find something to put them in...
My initial concern with the Nighteyes is possible radio static...I have yet to drive at night with new lights, but while driving yesterday with a radio station playing, I turned on headlights and the station immediately was not listenable due to static noise. Lights off and clear music. Only a local radio station was clear, uh oh!
Anyone notice this with the Nighteyes??

The radio static is common with some LED and HID light bulbs. It doesn't happen to all cars though. My dad's old 2000 Civic had that problem with Nighteyes LED bulbs. He recently bought a new (to him) 2010 Civic and the set of Nighteye bulbs I installed in that don't affect the radio at all. My sister's 2013 Corolla isn't affected either. My wife's CRV used to have that problem with an older aftermarket head unit before I upgraded it to a newer Kenwood double din with Android Auto.

Look for headlight static filters. They might called something else too.

You can also try Ferrite coils. See this article.

Or something like this but for H4.

I ordered both the headlights and fog lights today for mine. I’ve had a couple of close calls with deer in my area. It’s a necessary investment. I’m shocked to see them so inexpensive. Can’t wait to install these!

One thing to keep in mind when purchasing LED's. You get what you pay for.
So if you buy cheap bulbs, you're likely going to have low quality gear.

I was recently doing research on this, and came across this video.

I find it relates well to the HR-V since they are doing the tests with a similar focused reflector housing. Yeah it's bigger because it's designed for a truck, but the focal points won't be terribly different. I was a little surprised at the number of bulbs that had terrible focus that would blind other drivers.

For those who don't want to watch the half-hour video, here is a neat chart.

I was a little disappointed that they didn't do the Morimoto Profile Peak series. Based on what I know about this particular design, it would likely have placed second with a very good beam pattern.
I also wish they had thrown a couple of the brighter halogens in just for comparison. Like the SilverStar or XtraVision series.

crap, can't post images yet. I'll have to edit this later.

Having bought many of the marimoto sets for my other previos Hondas, and a few retrofit source HIDs, the nighteye LED for 35 bucks is all I need. It is white, nice spread and does not get in anybody's eyes,… The new LEDs are whole new ballgame and I'm frankly glad that I'm not paying hundreds of dollars for a kit that gets hot, burns the reflector etc. etc.

My biggest concern is blinding others, you guys swear they're not annoying?

I've had annoying headlights, I regret ever installing them. I don't think these are bad stock, but obviously bright is nice..

I don't think the HR-V headlights are any worse than on any other car I have owned. Then again I have never had LED headlights. I do find many LED headlights annoying and almost blinding when driving at night. I would like to try these night eyes at some point.

Another question...did anyone have to re-aim your lights after installation?
I had to rotate one of mine in order to get the right beam pattern but YMMV. I also got H7's and they gave me H4's at no additional cost. Seems to be a trend with this vendor, but so far they have been great and improved visibility greatly. Recommend as well.

I've had the Nighteyes in for about a year now. I've been flashed for someone thinking my high beams are on exactly once in all that time.

I was concerned after owning many HID sets, with blinding other people. So a friend of mine and I went out one night with his car, to a 2 Lane Highway and did on coming test, and me following him. He reported it doesn't blind him at all in any situation. There's lights just do not blind other drivers.

The cut off point is the same. I really don’t think I’m blinding anyone. No one has flashed their lights at me or anything.
That's the thing, when I have 4 passengers on a dark country road I've been flashed with stock headlights 10+ times in 2 years. Maybe I need to confirm my headlight aim first..

Thanks for the comments, I'll consider them
