Look at this instruction for the HRV ambient light. It shows you how to take the glove box. You might need to take the under cover first.

This helps a lot! You have to remove the side and bottom cover first before removing the glove box as those are clipped onto the glove box.

 

If I may ask, and it's not too embarrassing, how did your glove compartment get "scratched up pretty bad?"

EDIT: i.e., is the cover that soft, easily scratched?

 

My car was purchased with the deep scratches on the glove box which was missed during delivery. I was just researching how to replace it should the dealer won't repair it for me since the replacement part isn't too expensive (about $70). Luckily my salesperson was able to get me a service appointment and the dealership will order and replace the glove box for me all covered.


EDIT: The cover is standard vinyl used in most Honda interior. It is not "soft" but can easily leave scratch lines if you rub any solid objects on the surface.

 

Glad to hear they are replacing it for you as they should. I was hoping to hear a story involving 2 pet hedgehogs arm wrestling in the glove box. Oh well ...
