HRV Specs and Vibe Comparison

I took a bunch of specs from Jeff's video and put them in a chart some might find useful. Then, since I drive a Vibe and have long thought the HRV would be similar in size, I added Vibe numbers as well. Sorry, I'm not interested in AWD so I didn't add those numbers.

EDIT: Most of the Vibe numbers are from Cars.com. I fudged the Vibe's MPG numbers 'cause Cars.com was way high and Fueleconomy.gov was way low.

They did leave out "Browbeat them until they think life as they know it will not continue if you don't buy this car TODAY!"

That is a good thing. :D
I was laughing about possibly memorizing some of the points and asking questions made up of the exact text of those points - wonder if anyone would even notice!

It actually gave me some perspective on how all that info needs to be efficiently conveyed to the consumer.

I found it disappointing that it was targeted at young females. Not all of us old farts want to drive a Caddy. As long as it fits my golf clubs and my bowling balls I'm happy. I guess I can always hang some brass balls from the rear bumper. Thanks for the specs.

That would be funny. The salesman would be thinking. "This guy is too easy!"

OK
Here are some pricing guesses based on;
1. "$20, 000 to $26,000" quote from the Honda trainer per Sarah_picking
2. Fit prices, specifically the $ differences between trims.

800 - CVT
820 - destination charge
1250 - AWD

Fit
$15,650+800+820=17,270 LX
$17,560+800+820=19,180 EX
$19,925 +820=20,745 EXL
$20,925 +820=22,745 EXL nav

HR-V
$20,000+800+820=21,620 LX
$21,900+800+820=23,520 EX
$23,520+1250 =24,770 EX/AWD
$24,265 +820=25,085 EXL
$25,265 +820=26,085 EXL nav

I REALLY hope that "20,000" is incorrect on the LX. Hoped it would start around 19,000. :(

Unless I misread, it appears only xm satellite on EX-L. If this is true Honda may have lost a customer. Why Honda thinks a $30-40 (mfg. cost) satellite receiver should only be on its highest trim is beyond stupid. It is a huge insult to their customers.

It's all about extracting the most money from the most buyers. Some set of marketers analyzed things like satellite and HD radio and concluded a certain set of buyers wanted them so bad they'd spring for the top trim.

I'm not a marketer, but if I was, and I had a group of people who could afford to pay, and who said in marketing groups "I absolutely must have Sirius", I'd put it that my top trim level. Especially if all the cost-conscious buyers said "Oh, I don't need that".

It's just cold marketing calculations. But yea, these days you'd almost expect HD and Sirius to be standard. I did a double-take when I saw that too. Same as a gray interior - really, I need a CVT?
