My wife came home at midday and told me that the CTBA warning had come up on the dash, she directed the
air-conditioner up onto the windscreen and the warning went away in a minute or so. The outside temperature here today in S.E. QLD was 35°C (95°F).
I have never had this happen to me, because I always use a silver reflective sun shade when I park the car in the sun. I mainly do this to protect the dashboard.

I was told today that it is my low battery
The sensor can overheat if the car is sitting in the sun and it is very hot, e.g. 30C.
Your battery will lose voltage if you do not lock the car when not in use, the car is always looking/searching for the key fob. Best way to overcome that problem is turn on the "walk away locking system".

Do you use something like the CTEK MXS 5.0 every couple of weeks to keep your battery in good order?
The HRV is reknown for the battery dying when it is not maintained, I use my CTEK MXS 5.0 at least once every 3 weeks.
If you search the forum you will find a lot of complaints about battery failures.

Mine seems to come on when it is extremely hot weather what can I do?
Wind all the windows down turn A/C on full blast and start driving, once the A/C is blowing really cold air, wind up the windows - turn on recirculate and direct air onto windscreen. The CTBA will reset once it cools down.

If driving in city/town traffic, just be aware that the CTBA will not operate if you get too close to the car in front and he stops suddenly and you are not paying attention.

City-Brake Active System (CTBA): operating at speeds between 5 and 32 km/h, CTBA used a radar sensor located in the rear view mirror to monitor.

My CTBA warning light has come on 3 times in the 3+ years that we have owned the car.

The only time the battery has been changed, was during a Service when Honda said it was not up to scratch. There was no CTBA light beforehand to indicate it required changing.
When the CTBA light has been activated, the car has been parked in the sun (35C and above) with a windscreen shade to protect the dash and cool the car. It does take awhile for the sensor to cool down and the light to go out, but in that time you just have to be mindful, that the city brake will not work if you get too close to another car and forget to brake.

I use a CTek MXS 5.0 on my battery every 4 weeks, I have a note on my PC calendar to remind me.

I am driving my car 6-7 days a week, travelling 60kms at the minimum each day, so yes, my battery is fully charged.
I do 500kms per week, sometimes more and I still use a CTEK MX5.0 charger once every 3 weeks.

This is my comment from another thread in this forum:
"According to my Dealership Workshop Manager, if you turn on everything possible at once in a HRV, the alternator will still only input (recharge) at 1V above what is being drawn.
It is all controlled by the onboard computer these days. In days gone by alternators used to have a voltage regulator to control the charge rate."
