Ours is coming in from between the tail lights and the panel. Simple fix.
Same here. Sloshing water when I turn. Can't see where the water is. There is noticeable water in the spare tire area.I just had this happen today for the first time on my 2016 HR-V! Is there no recall for this?
Yes!!!Has anyone had any water accumulation in the rear hatch door? When opening and closing the hatch we can hear water sloshing around. We pulled one of the panel clips loose and were able to drain off most of the water any ideas out there?
any comments on this????Has Honda fixed the problem on the newer HRV 2020 and above.. If so what was the fix???
Had a similar issue where water was getting into the c-pillar in the driver's side and running down the headliner and seatbelt where it exits the headliner. So much so that the seat is completely soaked and stained. During a heavy rainstorm I peeled back the rear DS weatherstripping and popped out the plastic on the c pillar and saw the water dripping down from the roof right where the hatch and body meet. I inspected the gutter (under the removeable black vinyl strip that runs front to back), but didnt notice anything. Dealer inspected and found sealant in the middle of the gutter had shrunk and cracked. Still waiting on time to prove that their repair fixed the issue.Same case with my HRV2015 , for 2 years now , rainwater enters the tailgate and accumulates at the weather strip and if excessive the water goes into the spare tire well via the tailgate strike area. I plan on boring 2 holes at the inside half of the weather strip to drain down the water . I suspect the gasket of the taillight garnish having shrunk after 2 years.
I have the same problem and I have water in my back lights. Did you get this resolved? I have a 2016 HRVOur dealership told us that the water sloshing in our rear hatch door was caused by a seam seal that failed. Terribly disappointed in the way it was handled. Hopefully there will a recall based on manufacturer defect and we will be recompensated.
The dealer will be a little more official. We have other leaks here, but you are the first with the rear hatch.
If still under warranty, have the dealer look at it.
I also have this situation and can only drain part of the water.Had a similar issue where water was getting into the c-pillar in the driver's side and running down the headliner and seatbelt where it exits the headliner. Water was also collecting in the spare tire compartment. So much so that the seat is completely soaked and stained and rust staining is evident in the well below the tire. During a heavy rainstorm I peeled back the rear DS weatherstripping and popped out the plastic on the c pillar and saw the water dripping down from the roof right where the hatch and body meet. I benefited a lot, I'll try it tomorrow. With that much water leaking you should be able to figure out where the leak is.
The interior panel of the rear hatch pops out very easily. With the panel removed, you may be able to see water trails and stains of where the leak is.
If nothing is obvious, a small container of water, better than a garden hose, dripped slowly in various spots may lead to the leak.
Someone mentioned that water can leak into the rear hatch from under the rear hatch spoiler.
This is true. I hate the way the spoiler attaches to the rear hatch.
Plastic pop pins holding the spoiler on go right into the hatch metal frame.
It's a terrible design and the spoiler is not held onto the rear hatch that securely.
If water leaks into the middle pop pin holes, the inside of the rear hatch window could also be wet.
Removing the rear spoiler quite simple. 2 people is best.
Just be careful since the spoiler is plastic and needs a fair bit of force to release it from the 8 or so pop pins.
The spoiler pop pins are a unique design and quite durable.
None broke when I removed our rear hatch spoiler to eliminate it's rattling and to tint the 3rd brake light in the spoiler.
