Yup, understood your previous post. What I was trying to get across is the brokers prices are on their website so if you like their price you know that's the price you'll pay when you get there. Whereas with haggling you won't know what the final price will be until you both eventually agree one, and it may be far from a price you expected to pay.

When purchasing my previous vehicle both local dealerships would not budge on price as the model I wanted was in high demand, with even two year old models still selling at over £20k. When speaking to other owners the best they got was some mats, a tank of fuel and maybe some free servicing.

And yet the broker I used managed to knock £5k off via their local dealership.

Less hassle with the haggle.....

For my wife's 2016 CRV, I did the haggling all through email with their fleet salesman though there wasn't much haggling. For my recent HRV, I would have done it via email, but just stopped in to test drive and wasn't planning on buying, but did end up buying.

I am living in Northern VA. I went to a Honda dealership and saw a blue HRV touring AWD. I asked for OTD price. 1st time they gave me $32,000 with 0% APR. I told them if they could make it with $26,000. They gave me $28,480 at 2nd time.
I left the dealership without asking phone number or info. I think OTD price for 2021 HR-V Touring AWD around $27,000 with 0% APR is reasonable. Any brother here got the 2021 Touring AWD in this price 27k or cheaper. Sale tax in VA is 4.15%.

Thanks.

Use Truecar.com to get the best price. I just recently learned of that site and used it. It will show you what price people in your area are actually paying for it and when you make an account, you pick dealers and the cars they have and they will actually contact you and bid for your business. I just got my 2021 Blue HRV Ex FWD for $23,089 which inculdes the destination fee. Thats about $2500 off MSRP. And I didn't have to bother haggling a price. lol. Also, the new 2022 HRV has just be announced for the non American market (Called the Vezel). The US version should be coming late 2021. You could possibly used that to make them go even lower. Or wait. The new one does look really nice. I could't wait thought, my old car died. lol.

Around here, southern Wisconsin, the Tru-car prices are... For the simple 2020 HRV LX model 22,245 fair-price. For 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, basic, with manual trans. 21,358 offered by dealer.
I guess one has to pay a thousand extra for possible HRV transmission problems and magic seats. Admittedly, I haven't done much research. But I'm damn tired of automatic anything, especially transmissions.

Sadly, the HRV is not alone for CVT issues. Google enough and you will find similar issues among car manufacturers. Not good when they fail but on a % of sales, the HRV CVT holds up.

Hey folks, I just bought a black on black 2016 HR-V EX-L AWD for $22,443.58 (price car + all taxes n fees) from Carvana. I will become a first time Honda owner when it gets delivered on Sunday.

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a new HRV-EX AWD. The OTD price seems to be very high.
I know each area has different sale tax, document fee, and etc. However, if you would provide the OTD price that you paid and sale tax
in your area. It would help me to negotiate with local salesman. I am in the Midwest area.

Thank you!

At the moment I can get a car finance via this company. The only thing I need is to find the right car :)
Thank you!
Have you eventually bought anything yet? I bet that 3 months ago prices were much more attractive than they are today :)

What I Paid for my HR-V

All,

I guess since we're close, its time to start a thread with postings of actual prices paid for HR-Vs.

I suggest this format:

Model/Price/Dealer

Please try to keep dealer addons out of the equation.

Happy Hunting!!!
Might be a good idea to list dealer financing or personal loan/cash. Dealers sometimes make more on the financing than the actual car and are willing to go lower on the price if you are going to finance it with them.

I should also mention that you should allow them to think that you are going to finance through them until you lock down the lowest price on the deal. You can always change payment options when you pick up the car.
